We're here to help
Visit our resource on SEN Support in school which details schools should be using an ‘assess, plan, do, review’ approach for pupils with SEN. This is known as the ‘Graduated Approach’ and here is a link to explain this further, Introduction to the SEND Inclusion guidance – Warwickshire County Council. This would usually include use of an Individual Education Plan (or similar), to record and monitor termly targets. This should be done with input from parents. Every school has a SEN policy, which you will be able to find on their website and highlight any areas of the policy where you feel that the school is not following. We advise setting up a meeting with the SENCO to discuss how the school are meeting your child’s needs in relation to this.
